"Committed to Serving the Public"

Greetings.
I am Yu Jong Chul, President of the Korean Association for Livestock Biosecurity and Public Hygiene Management.

Our Association is a specialized organization dedicated to the prevention and control of animal infectious diseases. We safeguard safe food for the nation and protect the livelihood of livestock farmers. In the increasingly complex and diverse landscape of the livestock industry, we are diligently fulfilling our mission on the front lines, working tirelessly to protect livestock from diseases, ensure public health, and create a sustainable livestock environment.

Particularly in recent times, the threat of infectious diseases such as Avian Influenza (AI), Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD), African Swine Fever (ASF), Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD), Salmonella, and various vector-borne diseases (e.g., flies, mosquitoes, ticks) is growing daily. Correspondingly, our disease control system is rapidly evolving toward greater precision, scientific rigor, and continuous operation.

Amidst these challenges, our Association, in collaboration with livestock biosecurity and hygiene professionals nationwide, is implementing a field-oriented integrated disease control system. This is achieved through various strategies and technologies, including customized control by livestock species and region, vector surveillance and control, drone and ICT-based smart biosecurity, and the operation of a Biosecurity Safety Manager Certification Program.

The future of the livestock industry lies in 'diversity.' We are committed to understanding and respecting the differences in production methods, farm scales, regional conditions, and livestock characteristics. Our goal is to establish a comprehensive, 'no blind spot' disease control system, ensuring all farms remain disease-free.

We hope this website serves as a valuable platform for communication and collaboration among the public, farmers, government, and industry stakeholders.
We will always seek answers in the field and strive to be an association that stands with the nation.

Thank you.

Respectfully, Yu Jong Chul President, Korean Association for Livestock Biosecurity and Public Hygiene Management
